ROFL
Sorry
I bet it's screamingly annoying.

Bluegrass · 25/09/2012 12:17

Bit early for a drunk thread isn't it?

InvisibleHotPinkWeasel · 25/09/2012 12:17

Are you hitting the track pad by accident?

somewheresomehow · 26/09/2012 21:27

is it a lap top or desk top ?
could try this --
try Control Panel -> Mouse -> Pointer Options -> and uncheck "hide pointer while typing"

ErmahgerdPerngwens · 26/09/2012 21:36

DS2 did something to my laptop that did something similar, it kept actually clicking things instead of scrolling over them as well.

Turning it off and on again worked, fortunately as I don't think I'd ever have been able to get to the control panel with things as they were!

omfgkillmenow · 28/09/2012 17:48

bump its happening again, well not right now but a few minutes aga !!!
nowagain now is doing it yeah rithe

What version of windows are you using?
What browser are you using?
Any chance you could have a virus?

Snorbs · 28/09/2012 18:48

You are likely to be accidentally touching the touchpad while you are typing.

NewStartSameStory · 28/09/2012 18:54

COuld it be affected by a virus? When did you last perform full scan?

omfgkillmenow · 28/09/2012 18:55

I think it must be a virus as I have had the computer for a year and not had I this problem before but it seems to occur most when I press the shift but not all the time it comes and goes the letter I type tue rns just jumps into a word back in the last sentence but if I type really really slowly it is ok most of the time

willow777 · 28/09/2012 18:58

try malwarebytes, that's helped me out in the past

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/09/2012 19:10

I very much doubt it's a virus.

It's either a dirty keyboard, or your touch settings are too sensitive on the touch pad.

I don't suppose you have a can of spray air? To blast the keyboard with? Just me then.

On a windows machine, check your sensitivity settings for the touch pad in control panel and set them to be more heavy handed so not activating it with a wave of your hand when typing.

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 28/09/2012 19:12

Does it do it if you plug an external USB mouse in?

willow777 · 28/09/2012 19:35

If it's a dirty keyboard, how about hoovering it with a sock over the end of the nozzle to stop any keys flying up there (even MORE annoying to type with)...

NewStartSameStory · 28/09/2012 20:29

Sticky shift key settings. Mine were too sensitive and this cause the issue. It was to do with holding the shift key fractionally too long. It did stupid things. Can't remember how to check and lost my glasses so can't see well enough to find it for you. Somewhere in the control pannel would be my guess - accessibility settings seem to ring a bell.
