can someone talk me through how to block porn on an ipod over wifi pls

ds has been watching porn on his ipod - the main computer is in the living room and never used unsupervised ... but when I gave him his ipod I naively assumed he'd be using it for music, games etc ...

anyway .....

I can't work out how to block porn sites from being accessed by his ipod as obviously that's not covered by the computer's protection (we have BT broadband)

can anyone talk me through how to do it (pref in words of one syllable ...)

You need to set up a Google account and then go in and set the restrictions with a blocking password on each PC.

Youtube read the parental guidance but I think you can set it up via Google account too. I'll check tomorrow.

Mobicp ypu set up accounts for different iPads - not every iPad on the account has to have the same settings. If you have only one iPad you can easily log in and relax the restrictions while you use it and then go back and reset them - but it is a bit of a faff. The Mobicip is American and very restrictive even by my standards.

Thank you. I can't realistically see us changing the settings on the Ipad every time we use it, we all use it randomly throughout the day. I will bear the Mobicip in mind for when the DCs have their own gadgets, esp 3G ones. As the Ipad is not 3g and is mainly used at home I think we will investigate our router/ISP controls, we need to make the IMac safe as well.

I am wondering if it is possible to have one set of settings suits all or whether we are going to have to get used to logging in and out individually.

A program that logs all the websites visited would help prevent your DC's from going to any unsuitable sites but would mean that you don't have to have seperate accounts. There are plenty of program's that will do this and you can choose to have the results emailed to you as often as you like.

I may be a bit naive but why not take the iPod off him for increasing lengths each time he looks at porn as you've made your views clear and he's under your roof? He'll prob still look outside the house but at least he'll understand there are consequences for his actions in your house.
