Kindle screen problem

Basically, half of the screen saver image is now stuck on the screen all the time, doesn't matter whether its on or off, so its unusable.

Anyone had this problem before? It was a present so I don't really want to go through the hassle of asking that person for details to get it fixed...

Amazon customer services are usually pretty good at sorting stuff like this out. Assuming it's registered to an account in your name and less than a year old, I expect they will sort it for free without requiring lots of purchase details from your friend.

We've just had this- the screen was broken.
If it's in warranty they they will probably replace it, if not, they will offer you a discount on a new one.

Thanks - though annoying to know the screen is actually broken! I'll try Amazon customer services, it is registered in my name so hopefully they'll sort it.

You might want to look into the 3 year extended warranties on the Amazon website as well.

They just replaced mine just over a year after I got it - screen was stick fully on screen saver unless I was plugged in so they thought it might be a bettery problem. V good service!
