I have a Vodafone dongle in my holiday flat. No phone line there and don't really want one. It's great for laptops where you can stick it into the USB port.

But a sharing dock would work for Ipads and stuff wouldn't it?

I'm using the ZTE MF10 mains powered wireless router with Three.

Three says they are limited to 5 devices, and I think that's correct (but I 'spread the load' using 2 routers at present).

You may need an ethernet cable (eg from Poundland) to connect first time to allow you to set the wireless SSID. Obv cable won't break the bank but n

aaaargh... needing one and not having one to hand could be frustrating. Just pointing out, so not to be forced into paying a tenner or more at the first retailer you find.

You might find an unlocked Mi-Fi on Ebay. Rechargeable battery so could be taken out in car. Car and mains chargers exist.

Mi-Fi was about 70 quid at Three.
ZTE MF10 cost me approx 40 quid.

Thanks NG,

Don't need more than 5 devices - tis tiny holiday flat - don't need a big deal just some wifi.

the vodafone dongle is great plugged into a notebook or laptop but now a lot of people want to use Ipods/pads etc,

Hence the sharing hub idea.

Sounds brilliant (worried there's a catch somewhere - like does it bloody work?)

Any thoughts on the Vodafone one linked above?

tx

From an item on PC Advisor, it seems like the Vodafone devices are pretty much the same spec and similar prices.

I'd say "Go for it!"
