SD cards not recognised by my camera.

I bought two new cards and my camera won't recognise either of them. I've just tried one in this laptop and it has been read fine and is showing as an empty card. The weird thing is, the camera is still reading old SD cards which have photos on - just not the two new ones (different brands bought from different suppliers)

It isn't a Sony camera is it. As they only take Sony ad cards. Otherwise you may need to format the card first?

I've had similar and was told that some new cards are SD/hd [think that was what they said] so different.

My camera is about 7 years old and I don't think it recognises SDHC cards. I have tried a software update but no joy.

Have managed to track down some old SD cards on Amazon which I will hopefully get before we leave on holiday.

What capacity are your SD cards? Older hardware will only read SD cards of 2GB or less.
