have you tried switching it off and on again? (!) (i mean it tho)

BrianButterfield · 08/07/2012 20:34

Because printers are cunts. All of them.

Pascha · 08/07/2012 20:34

Are you sure there's not a tiny corner of paper wedged somewhere in it?

I presume you've exhausted all the options of turning it off and on again, opening the cover, taking out all the paper and reloading it.

Try kicking it.

Is it a Kodak? If so, get rid now.

CokeFan · 08/07/2012 20:38

Sorry, missed that it's a canon in your OP. Is there more than one door to open?

LaBelleDameSansPatience · 08/07/2012 21:32

CofeFan, I have got a Kodak Hero 5.1. Not too bad to start with, now jams every piece of paper. Seven sheets mangled in a row this evening. I HATE IT. Why was this not mentioned of the Amazon reviews?????? Are you saying that there is no hope?

CokeFan · 08/07/2012 22:25

Nope. Our Kodak printer went in the bin. We couldn't, in all conscience, even hand it on to someone for free.

We were duped in Currys by the slick salesman - they're the printers that are supposed to have the cheapest replacement ink cartridges. Well, yes, they're cheap but they only last a fixed amount of time, no matter how many sheets you print.

We kept getting tray jammed errors. At one point it was 50/50 whether it would print or just do error beeps. On a later visit DH saw someone else in Currys returning the same type of printer and was on the point of saying something.

Now have a HP Photosmart all in one and it works perfectly.

If it's anything like mine it might be because you have the wrong paper size setup. On mine if the document isn't set to A4 in Page Setup the printer crashes and claims there's a paper jam, even though there isn't.

Found a tiny scrap of paper in the paper feed ie my fault, not the printer's Blush. Still don't know how the ink will go, though. I had hoped that infrequent printing would make them last; maybe not!
