Airport express - What is it?

Dh was flogged an airport express yesterday. He asked for a wifi repeater. We have an oldish house and the wifi signal is quite crap in places like the cellar, kitchen and one of the bedrooms.

I haven't taken it out of the box yet as I'm not sure it's what we want and it was rather expensive! We have a home hub 2 and the signal has been crap since neighbours moved in 6 months ago. I think we might clash on signals. Have tried changing channels. On some Apple devices we frequently lose the signal, as well as it being very dodgy in some rooms.

Will this help?

I'm an Apple-lover and use Airport Express and Airport Extreme but I have a feeling a pair of ethernet adapters like this could sort you out. They use your power supply to enhance your wifi signal (or something like that!)

I have a pair of these which are currently unavailable on Amazon but they work a treat and our wifi now reaches parts of the house we could previously only dream about. I don't know how easy/hard they are to install as my lovely nerdy mate came round and did it for me.

The ones I have are extra good a you can plug other devices into the same socket.

Thanks for reply. Oh it's too confusing for me. We already have a pair of those power line adaptors for bt vision. I don't even understand how they work for that!

We'll take the airport express back I think.
