itunes from old laptop to new laptop?

Could comeone please tell me how to get my itunes account onto new laptop? When I plug iphone into new computer nothing happens... I have tried to download itunes on to new laptop but I cant see that it has actually downloaded.... Help...!

Do you need to move all your files from iTunes from the old PC to the new one? Or do you just need to install iTunes? Do you have an iPhone where all your music etc is stored?

FreckledLeopard thanks for your reply. I have an iphone with all of my music on, My old laptop is scrap, not sure what I need to do..........?

Does you old laptop still work though? Can you turn on 'homeshare'? This then uses wifi (I think) to copy your files from one computer to the other. I am not a geeky person at all so can't remember how I did this, but I did and it worked. Perhaps put itunes homeshare into google and it should tell you how to do it.

Thanks Char, old laptop crashes constantly so it is a battle to get anywhere with it....
