Ipod touch screen repairs

can anyone help as I am having one of those days?

Dd dropped fil's ipod touch and has cracked the screen so I need to find out if it can be repaired and for how much or whether we need to buy a new one.

I could cry as this happend when we went to pick up a free second hand washing machine to tide us over until we could get a new one next month as our current one flooded the kitchen twice before dying.

all that money saving effort and we could still be £250 down!

Ok firstly they don't cost £250 so calm down :)

Do you have an apple store near you? If you take it in they will give you an idea if it is repairable and if so, how much it will cost. If it can't be fixed, they may offer you a discount on a new one as a trade-in thing (they did this recently with DS's ipod), or offer you a reconditioned one of the same model and age for much less than a new one would be.

Also, depending on how old the ipod is, I have heard of them occasionally replacing them for free if they are only a few months old.

its a brand new 32gb one so I know it won't be cheap to replace it. I just wondered if anyone had been down the repair route?
