Transfering files from PC to ipad?

Is it possible. I am talking about word files as well as some jpegs for instance. I know ipads don't have USB ports but surely there is a way to get files in there. I guess I could e mail them but what about bigger files - how can it be done???

Download it to your PC, get the app on your iPad and you can get at your files on either.

You can email and that is effective.

I have a Dropbox account which does the trick pretty well for large and small files.
