Trouble charging my laptop

The same thing happened to my last laptop. The charger won't stay in, so I have to tape it in.
Anyone else had this?

DD's Dell does this too - it's not charging either, so she has to make sure it stays in - she uses blutac to keep it in place. I really must prise it out of her hands and take it to be fixed, as it's still under guarantee. We have accidental damage cover too, which I think we'll need, as I suspect the socket has come loose inside and needs resoldering.
