Can anyone help me with Android questions?

Hi all.

I'm looking for a new cheap tablet as I'm sick of never getting near my iPad (it's mine in theory but dh and dd1 always seem to get there first) and I cannot afford another one. In any event, it makes sense to get something that will give us things that the iPad doesn't (lack of flash is my biggest gripe). I'd also like something a bit lighter/smaller so I'm looking at 7" ones.

I'm very taken with this one but note that it is running Android 2.3.4 and not the bizarrely named after foodstuffs more recent versions. I have no experience at all with Android and was hoping some of you more informed people might be able to explain if this is a problem? What do the more recent versions offer that 2.3.4 doesn't give?

If anyone has any alternatives they'd like to recommend then I'd be very grateful as am clueless with Android systems. Budget is ideally under £200, but would stretch to £250 for something special.

TIA

ooops, meant to type more...

the Blackberry Playbook was mentioned in a positive way. Don't think it runs Android, but to be honest, so long as you can browse, listen to music, watch YouTube and so on, at an affordable price, it might be worth a look (or play, if you can find a local store with them in, or have access to a big city).

Thanks NetworkGuy. I do love the look of the Playbook but I can't seem to find it in stock anywhere and I think I heard recently that BB weren't going to make it anymore?

Thanks for the recommendation sassy. I thought I'd seen all Amazon had to offer, missed this one!

I have now had some time to try out this version(ICS) and I am quite impresed,it is much quicker than 2.3,everything sems to load quicker and as yet hasn't crashed. However I upgraded only because I knew that if I didn't like it I would be able to go back to 2.3 as Prestigio keep all versions on their download page, don't know if you would get this from all manufacturers.
