Am about to open my new iPad 3! Hints tips and advice wanted!

Ordered straight off the bat by geeky DH but it's actually a birthday present from my mum! (she's not rich. This is the sort of thing she does instead of paying into a pension or mortgage...)

Any tips on good apps, magazines etc? Ive insisted on it being a joint present for DH too, and have decided to sync it with his iTunes. How does it work sharing it? What about email?

DH has just come home with 'ours'. I haven't held it yet. Not sure I ever will! He's so happy though.

"We've" got "ours" too. It looks so handy for Mumsnetting on but I fear I might never find out...

What's the best way to use MN on th iPad? On mn mobile at the moment.

I think I'll use the full mumsnet site. Had a few seconds this morning, but DH has his mitts in it again now!

I nearly always use the full MN site on my iPad, on my phone I usually go to the mobile site or the app

get a case, screen protector and stylus with soft tip, you should be up to date with latest version but would immediately add find my phone/ipad as locates it.
Add to itunes library and start adding your apps, lots of freebies but just enjoy it, we have a 2 and latest, love them. just about to buy car mounts.

I've just got mine and I'm loving the dictation thing. I haven't got the clearest voice in the world but it seems to be really accurate. And you can do things like?©® just by saying them.

And you can put in punctuation and start another paragraph just by saying it.

How do you say ©®? (feeling a bit thick!) You are clearly already advanced in dictation

Kindle app is good.
If you have sky tv then the sky go app is good, I can watch mad men in bed on the iPad!

I don't even know how to type the r in a circle thingy never. Mind how to say it.

You just say trade mark sign, registered sign, copyright sign etc

There's a list here of the ones somebody has discovered but there are probably more - that list doesn't have the ? on it, but I tried it and it worked.
