Anyone use a shared online calendar?

I'm trying to find an online calendar that both DP and I can access, and ideally that would sync with our mobiles.

We have a paper calendar at home but we both forget to put stuff on there and it's at home so pretty pointless when we are both at work all day...I also have a paper diary but I forget to share it with DP...

We just want something that we can both put appointments etc on and both access. If it gave us alerts about birthdays etc that would be even better. Oh, and ideally it would also be free!

Yes- Google Calendars do exactly what you want.

Yep, google calendar is fab. Different colours for different kinds of events/appointments etc. Idiot proof!!

already been said but DP and I use google calendar for exactly this - I even have it set up to email him the daily agenda every morning and send him a text alert every time a new event is put in (by me) so he can no longer claim he was not informed!! It is great for families.
