DVD has what looks like a bubble on the silver side. Is this the end?

Hi hope this is the right place. I've never ventured further than Chat.

DVD of my son's show is just loading and loading in the player. I finally managed to get it out and it appears that a couple of "layers" have come apart in a small area near the inner hole. Like a bubble.

Has anyone come across this before? Is the DVD a gonner? Does anyone know if you can somehow retrieve the data?

As long as it is near to the middle hole it should be ok. I would see if you know anyone who can copy it for you though, it is quite easy to do on a computer if you have the right hardware.
