What do I do? I've been given an old iphone, thought I could just put my sim from my old Nokia phone in and away you go! I've put it in and got a network, but it hasn't recognised my info - contacts on my sim etc, it still has the contacts from the person who gave it to me.

Do I have to do something to itunes to get it to work with my sim????

Yes you have to sync it with iTunes. Plug it in and follow the instructions, should reset the phone to your sim. Failing that get in touch with Apple support cos they're pretty good.

I've logged into my Itunes account on my laptop and connected it to the iphone, then clicked sync. Will this mean its now sorted? Ie, the other person won't be getting stuff I'm doing to his account? Do i need to do anything else? I've amended the email address/facebook addresses

Umm, not sure. I did mine from new, ie. a long time ago and without somebody else's info on the phone! I had to 'set up' the phone completely from scratch but I just followed the instructions. When you sync it to iTunes does it recognise the phone? Has it still got the old content on it?

Oh and when you download stuff on your phone, it will ask you for your iTunes account password. Have you set one up or been asked to set one up?

its sync'd to my itunes and asks for my password but it still has the old contacts/photos on it.

Also, can i put photo's/videos/messages stored on my old phone to the iphone?

Don't know about the old contacts/info but you should be able to put stuff from your old phone onto the computer and then put it into the iPhone folder which will then put it all on your iPhone when you sync it.

Not sure how you go about deleting the other persons contacts/info unless you just physically go through everything. I'd speak to Apple if I were you. When I killed my phone I rang customer support and they booked me an appointment with my nearest Apple store. Have you got one near you?
