Help needed. Laptop won't boot!

Everything was going well except the sound didn't seem to work for cbeebies on I player. So rebooted. The laptop made 3 sounds (beepx3) and then died. And since then tried to boot again. And beeped 3x and that's it. No safe mode no nothing.

Help!!!

It seems likely that 3 beeps is a memory failure. Do you know, or can you tell, which BIOS you have? It may say something like AMIBIOS when booting.

I don't know which bios it is.. I don't know what bios is! I've posted this on chat too as thought might get more traffic and there are 2 posters who've been really helpful. One thinks it's a memory issue. Other thinks its a VGA or motherboard failure. I can't link on my phone but we are in chat if you'd pop over and see what they've said? Thank you so much!

When my laptop wouldn't boot up, not even into safe mode, my hard drive had died

I finally managed to boot it into BIOS where it showed my hard drive as not recognised. I needed a new one and lost everything. Hope that's not the case for you.
