Tablets and Routers

Bought DS2 a £99 tablet from Play.com. If you are sat on top of the router it works fine but the further away from the router you are the worse it gets, and then there is no signal.
Router is the standard wireless one from Sky and our two laptops work fine.

Any suggestions?

Is it an android tablet? If so they can be a bit iffy with wifi,it might be worth changing the channel your router is using, that sometimes does the trick.

Yes, it is sassy. Will try that, thanks. DH thinks we may need a new router. Hmm

There is an app in the market, wifi fixer,it did stop any connection problems but it meant that wifi was permanently on which in turn shortened my battery life, also it messed with my battery meter, tablet was saying it wasnt charged when it was,so I uninstalle it,it may be worth a try to see if it suits your tablet.

Thanks sassy, we are just going through all the channels on the router with varying results. Smile

might be worth downloading inSSIDeron yto your pc,that will show you what channels your neighbours are using,so you can pick one with less congestion.
