How to transfer from ipod/iphone to pc?

And preferably for free???

I have a number of movies on my iphone and ipod touch (not purchased from itunes) that I'd like to transfer to my pc.

Anyone know of any free reliable software I can use to do this? I'm looking at sharepod at the moment from getsharepod.com but am not sure if its full of spyware or not.

I used something I found on the Internet called pod to pc. Was free but slow. Not sure if there is a better alternative.

And THEN, does anyone know of any free trustworthy software to convert MP4 to dvd format?

What I should have said at the beginning is that I'm trying to get some movies off my iphone and ipod touch onto dvd for free.

Where did the files originally come from and can you get them from there? iTunes might have altered the films as it copies them into the iPhone and so the original files would be a better bet.

I see what you're saying badgespaws, but the original files are on a pc in another country which I'm not likely to ever see again, so no, not accessible I'm afraid.
