Urgent! Please please help me sort out tinternet for my DS' Xmas netbook, pretty please someone!

I bought my DS a reconditioned Acer E350 netbook from currys for Xmas. It is (was) ideal - I got it connected to my Tiscali Siemens router and everything was set up fine for Xmas. My router then stopped working so I had to have another, TalkTalk sent me a D-Link. This works with my Acer laptop (windows 7) although only when its very close to it (which kind of defeats the object of wireless, but that's another story!), however, my DS' netbook finds it and adds it but can't then connect to the internet through it. HELP! TalkTalk haven't been any help, they say I need to take it to a technician to update the wireless drivers. Is this right, how do I do this? Will it cost? Can I do it myself???

Never mind,I,ve googled the netbook and seen the spec,the following worked for me when I had problems connecting to wireless.
1.Open windows update,click on optional updates.look for an update that mentions wlan 802.11 b/g/n,this is an update for your wireless network adapter.I installed the update when I had wireless woes and it solved all my problems.

Drivers seem to be available from Emachines.com - you will need to know what Wireless card is installed. Atheros or Broadcom. Latest drivers on that site are May 2010.

If the netbook finds the WiFi router and logs in but does not get DNS (thus no internet), do check that you have entered the password correctly.
