A good free email provider that's not hotmail?

My hotmail account has been blocked because it got infected by an email from a work colleague and sent out thousands of spams. Hotmail tells me to nominate another email account for a password reset message. I have set up four new hotmail accounts but each one 'doesn't exist' by the next day so I can't get the message. Any suggestion for a non-hotmail free account I could set up?

I've done it! At only the third attempt today - gmail seemed very half hearted today trying to keep me out; just pretended a couple of times that the letters I copied in didn't match.

Oh phew, glad you managed it - was just going to suggest clearing your cookies and trying again but not need. :)

I have a gmail account too.. so far seems to have behaved - glad you broke in eventually!
