I am getting a pop up messages on the iPad saying I am using a mobile device, would you like to switch to our mobile site. it is taking up about a third of the screen and it appears every time I link to a new topic/page. Is there any way I can stop it coming up for good..

Was just about to ask this! Farking annoying.

Assuming you are using Safari on the iPad, Go to Settings -> Safari and check your 'Accept Cookies' settings is not set to 'Never'

BadgersPaws · 03/12/2011 08:10

No, it's not a cookie thing. Someone has decided that continually being asked this is a good thing. I've questioned the competency of mnhq's technical advisors before, such as when they backed Claire Perry MP and her homophobic extremist friends regarding Internet filtering, and I'm questioning them again now. They're persisting log ins, why not the rejection of the mobile question?

Is it just on mumsnet? There's an app if you can't find another way, depends if you prefer the full site I only use the app.

Was just about to start this thread... Amazingly, I can choose how I want to use MN!

It's an MN message. I was going to put a thread in "Site Stuff".

Agree, really annoying on the pad. Once is enough guys!

SoupDragon · 03/12/2011 08:31

There is already a thread in Site Stuff. Olivia is failing to going to look into it.

BadgersPaws · 03/12/2011 08:33

Being asked is brilliant. But I'm trusted to log in once and not prompted each time I come here, the rejection of this question should work the same.
