and it's gone all streaky. I used a duster that must have had some cleaning product residue in it. What can I use to make it shiny and nice again before he notices??

The "official" Apple guidelines is to use the little cloth that you should have got with the iMac dampened with water. However I'd have thought that even that would leave marks unless you've got distilled water.

I clean my iMac with windolene which you really shouldn't do so don't take my advice but...

... no streaks Grin

I don't know whether we got a little cloth. Isn't it just typical of Apple that you get a special little apple cloth? I have such a love/hate thing with Apple...

Rubberduck I'm not sure whether I dare... But it can't look worse than it does now... Thank you!

Windolene will be fine. I use it on mine all the time. Just use a decent glass cloth rather than a duster which will leave lint everywhere.

Do you have a microfibre cloth? Or a glasses cleaning cloth or a CD/DVD cleaning cloth? Anything anti-static, really.

ROFL at the special apple cloth and distilled water!

"ROFL at the special apple cloth and distilled water!"

I think it's just a "normal" microfibre cloth and the distilled water was my own pondering... Most "decent" monitors these days will come with micro fibre cloth so it's not an Apple thing. But that said I'm sure the Apple cloth is twice as expensive and comes with a very nice Apple log on it.

this made me smirk. But we have an iMac, a macbook pro and two iPods in the house so.... Baaa-aaa!

BertieBotts · 25/11/2011 21:56
