Yes :) I got a USB powered DVD drive on eBay for about 16 quid. Plugged it into the netbook USB port & it worked straightaway. This is with a two year old netbook running XP.
Can also play DVD movies now, but only really on mains & with headphones, as the speakers are so tinny :o
