Hotmail - I think I need an address, but I need to ask a couple of ?????

I am nneding to be emailing quite a few people over a project, this work based. I need ot be able to use it both at work and at home. I should be 'confidential' but my home addy has my full name in it ( as does my work one). I think a hotmail account is my answer.
But, how does it work in conjunction with my forefox browser? And is there a charge for multiple mailing etc I have read around this but wished to confirm a hotmail addy is going to be useful to me. What do you think?

Yeah, you'll be fine. I've used hotmail for years and use Firefox when on the PC. No charges for anything.

Get gmail instead - it's less likely to end up in people's spam filters.

Oh, I guess I may be too late - clearly I had my "Active" open for too long while reading other threads.
