lost pictures advice

My laptop is seriously playiny up and i cannot find several files of photo's (about 18 months worth) all od dd2's first 18 months. Anyone recommend a good recovery programme? or advise?

When you say you can't find them do you mean that you know where they should be but they aren't there now? Or you've never really paid attention to where they were saved?

I would start by doing a search on your computer for all jpg files. So if you are using XP, start -> Search -> Pictures, music or videos and let it do a hunt on your computer for all photos.

What sometimes happens is you accidentally move a folder into another folder without realising. I've done it myself a few times.

If you still cannot find them then you can try a free tool called Recuva. But first do a search. Chances are they could still be there.
