What to replace stolen satnav with?

some horrible little toe rag has stolen my satnav out of my (locked) car - it wasn't on view either grr

Anyway, when I can eventually afford to replace it should I get another one or should I get a satnav app for my iPhone?

Any recommendations for apps or standalone satnavs very welcome

Do you travel abroad with sat nav? In which case data costs can make it very expensive.

We have a garmin (will look up type) and it is better than in car ones - right down to speed limit warnings , Lane assist and very quick to load up

No we don't usually drive anywhere other than the UK

If you could look up the type that would be very helpful

Thanks

It depends what you want. We have a Garmin Nuvi 1240 that is down to £70 in Amazon. If all you need is occasional directions it's more than adequate. If you want wide screen, traffic alerts, lane assist, etc, etc. you may need something else.

Dh swears by Navigon, really good app, and much better than our satnav ever was. I believe it's quite pricey, but occasionally comes down in price.
