ok, I have trawled the internet and still can't decide so need some help from MN please. JanH has already kindly provided links for me but I'm still no further in deciding.

I want a small netbook (prefer not ipad cos of sticky fingers!!!!)) Don't want to spend more than £250/300 max though less is preferable. Only want it for email/skype really and perhaps play stuff on maybe/dvd's etc but doesn't have to be hd or anything as it will mostly be for emails and stuff.

I already have a laptop and desktop but laptop is not portable enough and no battery life left whatsoever!!!

Please help before I give up altogether, tia

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini (think it has a number 10 in there).

I love it. Use it for wordprocessing, internet and skype. You can't watch dvds on it but I do like it. Keyboard is nice and big too. And it's green.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is what I use. Bought a reconditioned one from Currys in August last year for about £210, but brand new wasn't much more expensive, I just wanted a red one! Can't fault it. Keeps me on MN from the sofa!

DelGirl · 30/05/2011 19:11

HI - WE HAVE A HP COMPAQ 311C - ITS A BIT BIGGER THAN THE MINI'S AS ITS WIDESCREEN - BUT ITS SUPER - MUCH PREFER IT TO HUBBYS LAPTOP - KEYBOARD EASY TO USE - SCREEN REALLY CLEAR - DOES ALL I WANT & MORE - DOES NOT HAVE A DISC DRIVE BUT CAME WITH A SEPERATE ONE FREE - THINK WE HAVE USED IT TWICE - WE EITHER DOWNLOAD STUFF DIRECT ON TO IT OR COPY IT FROM OTHER COMPUTER ONTO A MEMORY STICK - WE GOT OURS FROM 3 AS A SPECIAL OFFER WITH A MOBILE DONGLE WHICH WE NEEDED ANYWAY

I have a Samsung netbook which I really like - this new one looks nice.

Ilythia · 02/06/2011 10:39

I have a samsung netbook as well, nc10 I think. It is ace, has a card reader for photos and the battery lasts 6 hours which is why I bought it.
