Should I update my iphone 3GS?

I am still running the 3.something iOS

Should i update to 4.2 - i heard that people with an iphone 3GS had problems with 4 when it first came out - it made their emails unusable etc...

Should I update my software, or if it aint broke dont fix it?

It's fine. Virtually everyone's on 4.x now.

It was the 3G that had problems. The 3GS has always been fine and still is.
