VivalaBeaver - that's what I've just got and it's absolutely brilliant.

My Android phone is great for being out and about, but for proper going online, for watching films, etc I adore my iPad.

Not only would I marry it, Geepers, I would have its babies. Grin

I have both. Prefer my Iphone tbh. Dh has set something up facetalk or talkface or something. Where you can call the ipad & iphone from either device and see who you are speaking to. It's not a pleasant sight!

If you need to write long e-mail messages (eg for business) or were considering blogging from your mobile, then something with a QWERTY keyboard should be up on the list. There are a few (Android) smartphones with keyboard and many more older style phones too. As I mentioned, the on-screen keyboard for the iPhone was (for me) a downside, and I understand a number of others agree.

DH has an iPhone 4, I have an iPad1 and a cheap Nokia. I do not need mobile Internet access, so my phone costs me £10pcm. I use the iPad on wifi at home, so have no contract to pay on that. I find the iPhone small and fiddly and the reception can be poor. The iPad is much much better for using the internet.
