I have no idea if this is possible but this is what I would like to be able to do in excel - click on a cell in my first worksheet of my workbook and then by clicking on it for it to take me to another worksheet within the workbook.

Is this possible? I've googled away to my hearts content today but can't find anything which probably means i'm googling wrong!

Thank you!

I haven't checked with the latest version of Excel, but generally I record a macro to do this and combine it with a button that when clicked will take me to a specified cell in another worksheet. Is that what you're trying to do?

Just type = and then go to a cell in worksheet 2 and press enter. Et voila!

jumpyjack · 02/04/2011 21:56

But that gives you the value of the cell in worksheet 2, it doesn't move you there.

Maternelle · 02/04/2011 21:58

Oh yeah. Good point. Didn't read properly. Yes, a macro it would be then.

Insert, hyperlink. Choose if you want to link from another page of the same document or another document. Easy.

LoopyLoopsChupaChups · 02/04/2011 22:01

Does that work?

jumpyjack · 02/04/2011 22:02

That's much cleaner and simpler than my oldschool method.

:)

I can't try it at the moment as at home on a mac without excel, am going to office tomorrow (this bloody spreadsheet is NOT beating me!) and I will try it then. I wish I understood excel to a far greater degree than I do!

Thank you very much!

In the first sheet, type:

=HYPERLINK(CELL("address", Sheet2!c3), "Click here!")

This will create a cell marked "Click here!" that, when you click it, will take you to Sheet2, cell C3. Obviously you can change these as required. Don't change the bit saying "address" though. If your sheet names have spaces in them then you'll need to use quotes around the sheet and cell reference.

omg Snorbs thank you!!!!

Is it wrong I'm looking forward to making this work???!!!
