i am tryign to remove norton from my pc - it was on as a trial when i got it ermm 2 yr ago and i never renewed so it just constantly pops up willing me to buy into it - i am tryign to get virign security on my pc now but i cant get sodding norton off and cant even find it anywhere - please help me before i lose it.

You need to google Norton removal tool.

Does it appear in the Add/Remove Programs utility that you can get to from your Control Panel?

As PersonalClown says, you really need to download and use Norton removal tool. Just using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel will not remove it completely and the bits that are left behind can still cause problems.

i googled and removed the fecker - i am happy again! i do keep getting this update java crap which i now need to eradicate though i may be getting a bit slap happy !
