iTunes Query

I have a huge amount of music in my iTunes library and it's taking up a lot of space on my C drive. I have therefore copied it all over to my D drive and deleted off the C drive to create more space.

But iTunes doesn't seem to like this doesn't seem to be able to find the music anymore.

Is there a way round this or I am doomed to restore my library to my C drive?

You can move it, but you can't do it by just copying the folder to a different location. iTunes won't know where it is and will "panic".

There are instructions here for how to move the folder properly in Windows:
support.apple.com/kb/HT1364

However a tip to consider is to switch your iTunes to manually manage the music on your iPod/iPhone/Touch. That way once you've the music onto your iPod you can delete it from iTunes without it also being removed from your iPod. That can save an enormous amount of disk space, especially if you have one of the bigger iPods.

Ask for more information if you want to do that.

That's great - thank you. Unfortunately my iPod is only little (it was a freebie after all) but those instructions seem simple enough to use.
