MS Office "Not Genuine" ?

When opening Word we are getting a message saying our copy is not Genuine. It was installed after our pc crashed/new hard drive about 18 months ago. It now says soemthign about 4 days time but to what I'm not sure. any ideas ?

Possibly a side effect of MS retiring the validation program. If you haven't updated office recently, I suggest you update now.

and if we don't update it , what will happen ? ( as can't see from that link where/how to easily )

Well I can't really say. I would hope that updating will both make you more secure and sort out any problems with validation, but I couldn't promise that. Unfortunately, as I'm not using windows, I can't offer you a better link, because Microsoft sites just give me an error message. If you have MS Update (not the old Windows Update) just run that and it should update office as well as windows. If you are not sure go to update.microsoft.com/ and update from there.
