I have had a new laptop and am currently using it to add all our new CDs to our iTunes library (held on external hard drive).

Every blinking song has duplicated (or worse Angry) into my iTunes library.

Does anyone out there know of a quick method of deleting duplicated songs from my library, without clicking on every single duplication and deleting them?

There's 12616 tracks to work through.

Sigh.

TIA.

You basically have to do it manually.

You can display duplicates by clicking on 'display duplicates' from the File menu.

You can then sort by date (you may need to alter your display options to show date).

You can then delete them in blocks by deleting the older ones.

Thanks - DH is now doing some jiggerypokery with it - We'll try your method if that's unsuccessful.

Cheers.
