Playing pre recorded DVD on a Mac??

I should be able to just put the disc in and hey presto, shouldn't I?

I have something called "DVD Player" on the machine, but any DVD I have tried (and have tried quite a few!) just comes up with "Supported Disc not available".

Any ideas?

Yes you should be able to play it through DVD Player.

Try repairing the Permissions. You do this through Disk Utilities (Go to Finder and then Applications/Utilities), select the hard disk and click repair permissions.

This often fixes odd problems like this...
