Help! My 02 mobile keeps receiving porn emails

i dont know how to stop it. i have been in 2 o2 shops , they couldnt help. they said the only way to stop it it is to either change my number or stop the internet on my phone, which is an option as i dont use it, but that seems unfair, i may need it in the future.

the emails come through like a text but not from a number and it has obcene words in the title . i have young kids that look at my phone and they can both read. can anyone help

Is it a PAYG or contract phone ? Might be the sort of thing Watchdog or a newspaper 'help consumers' column could tackle for you (and chase someone high up in O2 as you are not getting far with the shop staff).

resumably changing your number would be a significant pain as it would mean letting friends and relatives know. I would have thought O2 could do a renumber for free, since these are nuisance messages and clearly unwanted...

You need to decide if you want a new number before chasing it further with a newspaper or consumer radio/TV show so they can ask O2 for what you want.

its a contract phone. i really would like to tell o2 where to stick its contract but i fear i am a mear lowlife customer.
how do i chase someone high up in o2. its hard enough getting through on the phone as it is!

Explain you have children and pornographic messages arrive which O2 has apparently no way of stopping. It's a contract phone and you cannot easily change your phone number (one of their pathetic solutions ) and while you are not using the internet at present why should you disable the facility (another of their so-called solutions ).

Give a "hard to get satisfaction" story (which is honest, after all) and see if a paper starts clobbering O2 for satisfaction for their customer (you!)

my dd used to get these on her mobile [angry
it was a payg,
i had to send a stop text.
the mobile has now been passed down to dh, and he doesnt seem to get them, he doesnt read his texts even if he did.

its not a text. so there is no number. its an email that comes to my phone like a text.
i have sent an email to o2 to complain and i will see how that goes

presumably there is some e-mail address tied to number @ o2.net (or whatever).

Cannot see any easy way to get that blocked - unless they can just block e-mail from being allowed on your account (presumably they should be able to capture some of these messages to you - maybe you'd need to switch phone off for a few days so the e-mail is held on their servers for them to examine (once phone is on, the message will be lost from the server and appear on your phone).

there is a website address that is linked to it, but its not pretty to look at. it says onn the website that there is a customer service number to ring of another company, i have tried numerous times to call it but nobody answers.

Probably best not to bother calling - even some 07 (0...) numbers can cost upwards of 35p a minute, and they presumably make their money from selling access to porn online.

What I was getting at was that one way they could check how the message reached you might need you to turn the phone off for a few days.

Is changing number (awkward and no guarantee of not getting repeat from some other firm) a possibility ?

Just wondering how these unwanted messages can be stopped once and for all... Consumer show like You and Yours on Radio 4, or Angela Rippon's morning show - this is a "rip off" (of your time, and having to guard against your children seeing unwanted messages), and O2 has been less useful than a chocolate fire guard, so far!

im not sure how i turn off service or push msg. the o2 people didnt mention that i could do that. its quite worrying that they dont know how to deal with this problem.
i still havent had a reaponse from my email to o2. just an automated email saying someone will be in contact.
