how do i make a new printer work on my computer?

new to me that is, but secondhand, well freecycled, very kind of them, but no disc and i can't find particular make in the suggestions.

is it one you plug into the computer? Some computers will automatically find the drivers it needs online when you plug it in. If not try going onto the manufacturers website, inputting the model and find/download the files you need from there.

thanks, the actual printer is listed as discontinued. should that be a problem?

It may still have the driver files you need available for download even though they no longer make them, worth a try.

at least i think it works, there doesnt seem to be any ink.. but it is connnected and the paper feeding through.
