Connecting TV to Sony DVD/CD home cinema surround sound?

A very basic question, I'm sure!

How do I connect our TV (Sony Bravia flat screen HD thing, only 6 months old) to our Sony DVD/CD player with surround sound so we can listen to TV through surround sound? We also have a sky HD box, if that makes a difference.

Our old TV was hooked up when we had Virgin, then DS broke the TV and we also switched to sky and I have no idea which cable I need to go where?!?!

We have a Sony Bravia TV and a surround sound system. We also have a Sky+HD and a PS3 attached to it all.

Our literally just connects from the surround sound to the TV with a HDMI cable into HD socket 1. And then all the extra bits connect to the surround sound into the relevant labelled holes. The only cable in our TV is one HD cable. The PS3 and sky box plug directly into the surround sound amp.

Have you still got your instructions?

Ah right so TV to surround sound then sky to surround sound. Think I only have sky to TV. Do you know what kind of cable for sky to surround sound? On school run now so could get one straight after school.

Thanks!

If you are using Sky HD, then surely your connections are HDMI.
