Aged and technophobic semi-hermit living out on the moors with no signals (radio/mob/tv)needs advice please. Have PC n iPod and want to hear own itunes & radio LOUD as deaf too! Do I need wireless speakers I can take around with me, or do I need radio/ipod dock that picks up radio from broadband router,is portable, but is it loud enough? And whatever is a dongle for and what needs USB battery charged? Brain hurting - have glanced on Amazon but it's way to blokey-techie, I just want nice sounds as a background to life, not a science project, and I definitely don't want to have to do a physics calculation to decide. Does anyone have a simple answer for me please?

Depending on how much you're willing to spend, I would personally suggest a nice docking station for your iPod.

I'm currently using a Bose sound system for it and its fantastic, its mains powered so it could be limited depending on where you want to play your music, however the volume can do very high without losing much quality.

Depending on what iPod you have, you are able to connect it to your computer with wireless and use that to stream songs and such without having to pack out your ipod with everything.

I wouldn't suggest anything portable that is battery powered depending on the sound you're looking for since they just don't have the power to support that.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks Onlydean. I will just have to bite the bullet and subject myself to an in-store salesperson, but I now know what I don't want!
