I assume you have iTunes? Because if you do, your iPhone will cause it to launch automatically and start synching once you connect the USB cable. You don't have to do anything.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/09/2010 22:50

yes i have itunes

the nice man in the o2 shop set it up for me (i took my lappy there) how blonde sad am i? Grin

so i basically just plug phone into lappy?

sounds easy enough ,,,,,,,,

thanks

If you have an iPhone 3GS or 4, yes, upgrade.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/09/2010 09:18

I think it's a 3g one

prob the simple basic version but does what I need

how do I find out which iPhone I have?

Sorry that's a really blonde dumb question Blush

I would be wary of putting iOS4 on a 3G - MmeLindt has had big problems with hers which started after she upgraded. I'm definitely not putting it on mine. You can just say no to the upgrade.

To tell which you have - look on the back of the phone, at the bottom in tiny letters (grey on the 3g apparently silver on the 3GS) is the model number - the iPhone 3G is model number A1241 and the iPhone 3GS is A1303.

Also if you can do video it's a 3GS.

Tee2072 · 19/09/2010 12:43

Definitely don't put it on anything earlier than a 3GS. It's crap on the 3G for sure.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/09/2010 19:16

thats it rusty, knew someone had a problem - thanks

no video, so i obv have the naff old iphone, but it does what i want

so NO upgrading software then :)

how is the big buy these days?

I did get the 3G sorted eventually. And now have a new 3GS which works fine with the upgrade. Wouldn't upgrade yours for the sake of it.

There is a video player app that you can download, it works well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2010 21:39

big fella is big Grin and fast asleep and farting (usual for him)

though he --stole- ate a pooey nappy earlier

i like the sound of the free video app - where can i find that, under apps? :)

MmeLindt · 20/09/2010 21:41

at Woofa's eating habits.

Yes, under apps. Will have a look at the one I had.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2010 21:44

She is fine, causing confusion and mischief over in the dog house topic. Her mum is having more puppies and the father is her brother. I posted in her name as a joke and it has gone a bit pearshaped. Oops.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/09/2010 22:38

Pmsl. Will go and read

4.1 is much better on a straight 3G than 4.0 was. I'm using it perfectly happily.

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/09/2010 15:12

bad mmelindt!!!

so do i do the software or not?
