Iphone 3 and Iphone 4

I can upgrade to either of these today.

Which one do I want and what is the difference?

Price!

I have a 3GS and it's great but if I could upgrade to 4 I would as the processing speed is faster and I believe it has a flash!

Ok 4 it is then, I have to upgrade my talk plan (by about £10 a month) for get it for free so wanted to check if it was worth it.

Thanks for replying by the way. My criteria up until your response was the fact that I could get an Edward Cullen case for the 3 but not for the 4!

My 3 is just fine!
The 4 is much heavier and most of the apps for a 4 work on a 3. Memory wise I agree the 4 is probably better though.

Well one of the things I wanted it for was Sat Nav and it seems the Tom Tom kit for iphone is not compatible with the 4, though I am sure they will bring one out it will probably take a while. Not sure now.

You can use the free maps app on a 3 and it works the same as a sat nav (without the voice)

I think another thing to consider is the 'forward compatibility' - think about how long you're planning to keep it until you upgrade.

I think I'd have a separate sat nav - the screen is small and the phone gets hot when charging and being used off a car charger for some time. This would probably decrease the life of the battery, but I could just be talking pants :)

I have the 3GS and I would get the 4, even though I am happy with my one... tied into contract until next summer, so will probably get a 2nd gen iphone4 eventually.....

Thanks all. Going to go for the 4. Have to pay £29.00 but stay on a similar plan to the one I am on, which I think is pretty good actually. Plus is 24 months then till next upgrade so thats quite a while so probably best to go for most recent development.
