There seem to be a lot of deals online offering free xboxes, dsi, cashback etc. The monthly contracts seem better too.

Has anyone bought one online?

Is there much difference?

Feel a bit nervouse about buying one.

Also, would like an android phone but reviews seem a bit mixed. I'd like one that has internet and satnav and a good camera. Do I need an android? I'm put off by how much they need charging?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I buy most t6hings online as we are miles from stores. The worry is when things go wrong. I had a Nintendo and an ipod go wrong (at different times). Both were from Amazon and the service was excellent.

Can't help you on phone choice as I'm currently researching for my son.
This website and this and one seem helpful.

www.mobilephone.co.uk/ and
www.e2save.com/ and at least one other website belong to Carphone Warehouse

MoneySavingExpert has some tips about choosing the best contract.

If you do go for an Android phone, it would probably be better to wait a little bit - Android v2.2 was announced 2-3 months ago and is only just arriving on mobile phones.

If you go to YouTube and look for "Google Android 2.2" there's a 45 minute video with a fairly large chunk about the features they've put into Android.

As for the 'deals' including XBox, etc, the costs will probably be higher (as there's no such thing as a free lunch, and you end up paying for the netbook or XBox, or whatever in pretty much every case).

Some people swear by cashback deals but I've not even got a contract phone (and smartphones are somewhat expensive, and easy to drop / lose / damage, so have not bothered).

Thank you! Will not rush into anything and keep doing some research.
