Im studying landscape design so have some experiance with hard landscaping but not on this scale. I missed a lot of the practicle work as I was pregnant.
Im going to dig down, level off the area then put hard core and a sand and concrete mix down before layingn the slabs.
'Its about 3m x 4.2m.

Just wodering anyone had any workds of wisdom.

get as much help as you can as it's seriously hard work.

And spend most of the time on the preparation to get it level as it will drive you nuts sitting on it if it isn't.

And do the concrete mix thick as it prevents weeds - use plenty in the gaps like you would tiling as it will then help stop weeds.

If you wanted to do it cheaper I've seen it done with gravel in the gaps and alpines grown in them - looked lovely.

Did the grave foundations really really deep...

No really, you need to put down that plastic sheeting stuff that stiod the weeks coming up. It is hard work! Have you considered puting pebbles down instead?

Could you get some of your fellow students to help for the practice?
