Our raspberries are fruiting, though they're not supposed to

We bought some raspberry canes this year - Malling Minerva. DH is in charge of them and has told me we will not get fruit until next year.

But...no-one told the raspberries this and some fruit are starting to appear. Is this a bad thing? Should we cut them back, or leave them to grow and eat them?
