fed up with bulbs not showing after a year or so.

Have lost of alliums- purple sensation- and one corner of thegarden has "lost" them- should be at least 6- came up for 2 years andnow all gone.
The site is warm and sheltered beside neighbouring fence and faces south east.

Same with dawrf white tulips in a window-box style pot- planted 7 and this year 1 has shown.

It's so frustrating- do you plant new bulbs each year - why are they so unpredictable?

Love a mystery!

Have they disappeared out of your windowbox? Or are there any bits left?
How deep are you planting them?
Any squirrels in the garden?

I'd say either the squirrels have eaten them, or you're planting them at the wrong depth.

I feel your pain - but I have discovered the culprit - rabbits.
