Sweet pea to cover tree stump? Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I'm wondering whether I can plant sweet pea to cover an old tree stump in the garden? I've seen it mentioned on other sites but does anyone have any advice on this?

The scent is amazing and it is very hardy.

Oh! It says on that link that it has no scent but the one I used to grow had a very old fashioned sweet pea perfume.

I tried this a few years ago - I found it really hard to make a suitable support for it to clamber up. I am used to growing sweet peas up a wigwam that has horizontal supports as well so that they can be easily tied in, iyswim.

But then I am hopeless at that sort of gardening - I can't create or build structures or supporting things to save my life.

Try pushing in some spruce tree twigs as they make excellent pea sticks or tie a net around the tree stump and the sweet peas will cling to the net.
