How can i keep the ants off my strawberry plants ..........

...... the plants are doing really well but are smothered in ants. I've put ant powder around the base of the pot they are in which should prevent new ants climbing up but I don't know how to get rid of the existing ones. They are all over the flowers and presumably when the flowers turn into strawberries the ants will eat them. Any suggestions??

I had the same problem - the little sods were eating all my strawberries - thenthe woodlice came and joined in. I couldn't find anything - what i did do is move the plants into my greenhouse. It was the only solution.

You could always try getting rid of the ant nest. Ant nematodes are available from www.thegreengardener.co.uk
