My stellata magnolia for my mum's arrived. It's in a box, it's a sapling and it's got a few tiny buds. I've no idea what to do with it until Christmas Day! Any advice?

TIA.

Just put it in a sheltered spot in the garden, say against a wall where it wont get blown over.
No need to do anything else...

Thanks Pannacotta. Just to confirm, take them out of the box (there are 2), put them in the simple tbs they were delivered in against a wall in the garden and don't water or anything?

Thanks again - much appreciated.

Yes do take them out of the box but they are fine in the tubs they were delivered in and dont need watering.
Hope your Mum likes them!

Thanks for your help Pannacotta. Gave them to my mum when we celebrated the other day and she loved them. They look really healthy too. Cheers!

Oh good, they are gorgeous we have a lovely small one and it already has some velvety flower buds on it.

lol but when I read the title I thought it was a birth announcement and Stellata Magnolia was the name

I've only had a few sips of wine, honest

Ha ha. She did want it because I have a dd called Stella but sadly not Stellata Magnolia.
