Would I be mad to plant some lavandula hidcote now?

I've just moved house and need to sort the front garden out (get rid of overgrown plants so that the wall ties can be re-done). In want to remove a choisya that has seen better days and is in a bad position (under a low-ish bay window) and replace it with some lavender plants. Do I need to wait until march/april or would I be OK ordering some plants now and just getting the front garden sorted?

Lavender is likely to suffer if planted in the Winter. I would plant it in a warm spell in Spring to give it the best chance of thriving.

Thanks. I'll hold off for now then. I may leave the choisya where it is for now unless it starts to get too rampant in the mean time.
